Project description

Chaiselongue is the study of an extension to and refurbishment of an existing terrace in Frankfurt/ Main. The structure forms an expressive L-Shape, gradually rising and widening to one end. The overall gesture frames the area of the terrace towards the house and acts as a fall protection to the lower located garden area. The gradual shift allows the user both, seating and inclined positioning. With the same gradual transition the use of the two materials wood and concrete is featured and combines the horizontality of the deck with the vertical elements of the Chaiselongue.
